What Springs does to a window
Springs glass faces the bay and the harbors instead of the ocean, and that is enough. Gerard Drive, Louse Point, Clearwater Beach, Lion Head Beach, Hog Creek and the homes on Three Mile Harbor and Accabonac Harbor take a damp salt haze off Gardiners Bay on every north and east wind that leaves a gray film on the water side of the house, and a nor'easter pushes the bay over Gerard Drive and leaves a hard salt line on the lower glass. The boat traffic in Three Mile Harbor keeps an exhaust film on anything facing the water, and summer humidity holds all of it on the glass.
Inland Springs is pitch pine and oak woods, and the trees are the second problem. The lots off Fireplace Road, Springs Fireplace Road, Old Stone Highway and Neck Path sit under a canopy that drops yellow pollen from late April into June and needles and sap for the rest of the year, and the deep shade keeps north-facing glass damp enough for mildew in the shoulder seasons. Springs Fireplace Road and Three Mile Harbor Road get salted and brined all winter, and plow spray leaves a de-icing haze on the front glass of homes near them.
Bayfront and harbor-front homes on Gerard Drive, Clearwater Beach, Lion Head Beach, Hog Creek and Three Mile Harbor do best every two months. Homes in the woods do well quarterly, with the inside glass done once a year either way. We keep the Springs route on the same weekday each cycle so neighbors on the same road share a visit.

How often should windows be cleaned in Springs?
Every two months for bayfront and harbor-front homes on Gerard Drive, Clearwater Beach, Lion Head Beach, Hog Creek or Three Mile Harbor, where salt builds up fast on the water side. Quarterly for homes in the woods off Fireplace Road and Old Stone Highway, which keeps pine pollen, road salt haze and mildew under control. Most people have the inside glass done once a year.
Do you work in condo and HOA buildings?
Yes. We work in the Clearwater Beach and Lion Head Beach property owners associations, in Maidstone Park, and in the condo complexes along Three Mile Harbor Road with front-desk or fob access. Just add us to your gate list or tell us the procedure when you book.
Can you remove hard water spots from sprinklers?
In most cases, yes. Mineral spots from sprinkler overspray need a dedicated treatment rather than regular cleaning. Tell us about them on the quote form and we will look at them on the first visit.
